LOGO Design
This project is creating a logo for a company. The company name and product line are your creative choice as long as it is appropriate for school.
A well-executed logo embodies the spirit and character of a company. So giving time to think about the company is just as important as the logo design.
A logo is a picture or stylized words that give the company identity. There are three basic design types of logo designs.
-The first is a typographic or decorative treatment of a person’s or company’s name or initials.
-The second is a graphic logo that uses a symbol or shape to represent the person or company.
-The third type of logo combines both these types in one design.

Vocabulary
Gestalt Theory: How we see and organize visual information into a meaningful whole. The whole is more than the sum of its parts. The whole can’t be perceived by a simple addition of isolated parts. The other parts around it influence each part of an image.
-Similarity: When we see objects or things in visual art we group them by their similarity. Grouping the objects or things by shape, size, color, location, angle, or lightness or darkness is natural to our minds. So as an artist use this sub-concept of Gestalt to help your design.
-Proximity: Grouping objects or things by similarity in space on the page is called proximity. The closer the objects are the more likely the brain will associate them as grouped.
-Continuation: The viewer’s eye will follow a line or curve in a visual artwork. Continuation occurs when the eye is carried smoothly into the line or curve of an adjacent object or thing.
-Figure/Ground: The ability of the mind to separate objects from their surroundings. If a person can not separate the main object from the surrounding area they will lose interest.

Design Considerations
Audience: Who is the intended buyer of the product that the business is selling?
What might be some strategies that you could use to attract the attention of the average buyer?
Stereotypes: What happens if you focus too much on the stereotypes of the average buyer?
Clichés: What repetitive images are usually used with this topic?
Why might it be important to stay away from over used symbols?
Intent/Purpose: What do you want the viewer to do as a result of seeing the logo?
Emotion: What feelings or mood does the logo generate for the business?
Why is considering emotions an important part of design work?
